Splash Fashion Show A/W 2012

After much questioning, I finally decided to attend the bi-annual Splash fashion show. It's always been one of the hottest events every year. I've been attending their shows for 3 years and always seem to compare each one to their previous show and they keep getting better. For those who don't know what Splash is - Its a middle east based fashion brand and aim to offer us all with affordable fashion.

The show was held on Friday the 21st at the Madinat Jumeirah.

Following their theme of Royalty, their collection was inspired from the Imperial Dynasties of China, France and the UK. You could spot the hottest trends out from this season such as brocades, velvets, lace and the peplum.
So here's my take on the show: I felt that some of the styling was over the top but then its a fashion showcase so it's about alright! Also a personal tip to many if you try to work on the brocade trend, remember it could either look tacky or chic.

NYFW : Runway Beauty Round-up

People not only look at the new womenswear trends during NYFW, BEAUTY is a key focus too. I'm the kind of person who enjoys the complete look! I noticed this season that many designers had opted for a very natural - no make up type look! Love this trend, however I do love the red lips at the Jason Wu show. (YES, I always love my color!)

NYFW : Streetstyle

Not enough words to describe how much I love fashion week! Unfortunately I'm unable to attend any thanks to university work but nevertheless I enjoy getting my usual fashion week runway updates! I'd mostly be retweeting images on my personal twitter or just reblogging on tumblr which are off the runway. For this year I decided I'd put my focus more on the street style during fashion week so these are the street style looks I was absolutely going nuts over!

Forever 21 Internship

Firstly I'd like to apologize for not posting in much for the past 2 months as I've been busy with my internship! Its a killer job and I literally come home exhausted and whining but then I just always think of the experience I'm getting and just get over it!
Anyways so I'm sure a few might know I took up an internship for 2 months at Forever 21 Middle East  as a Visual Merchandiser. Now those of you who don't know what a VM is - its basically having you products at the right place at the right time. VM has 3 parts - the merchandising bit (getting your goods on the floor); the visual part (creating a visual impact) and last but not the least - styling.
Personally when I was working I was more drawn towards the styling aspect as I'm a fashion enthusiast and kind off dwelled alright with the rest of the aspects. Anyways it was a wonderful experience working with the whole VM team!
