MFV loves Loafers

My new recent obsession are loafers. As many of you I'm currently studying in university and I'm always looking out for comfortable clothing and something that puts me on the go rather than pair of heels. I put together a few of my favorite loafers online and some streetstyle pictures.

You can buy the shoes seen below on NET-A-PORTER

Personally I love the whole idea of quirky and colorful loafers like the Charlotte Olympia's or the McQueens you can see below, they add a sense of whimsical in your wardrobe but then I love the whole classic look of your neutral shades. I think one should own atleast one pair of each kind.

Which ones do you love the most?

Trend: Global Holiday!

GLOBAL loving beyond NewYork.
I think everyone would be off on their holiday within the next few weeks! The whole "global" idea has definitely influenced our designers and personal style! When styling out for that holiday look - I don't mean London, Paris, NewYork... Think beyond that! Your exotic locations like Africa, India, Bali, Brazil, etc.
When you think of Africa, think of the big bold triangular prints and vibrant colors or say India, think their classic print - the paisley! Exotic prints, think big and bold. If you actually like this look but aren't so big on the vibrant hues, tone it down a few notches pairing it with a more subtle choice. I've also posted a few selected pieces below and a few images off tumblr for inspiration.

1. Orange woven printed shorts - Giambattista Valli
2. Loafers - Cobra Society
3. Paisley Wedges - ETRO
4. Brown woven shoulder bag - Chloe
5. Printed Swimsuit - ETRO
6. Scarf paneled top - Elizabeth and James
7. Graphic paisley printed dress - Topshop

Trend: Summer Blazing

Time for you to ditch that plain black / white blazer dolls!  Leave it with the classics and embrace the vibrant hues this summer! I spotted this trend when tumblring around and it looks pretty smart and you could always wear it to work rather than your plain black blazer or could wear it on your night out with your girls! Here's a few personal picks I loved!

Trend: Knotted up!

So I passed by this new trend on Knotted Button Down shirts which had been sported by celebrities like Shenae Grimes, Annalyne McCord and Minka Kelly. They seemed to have pulled it of really well! I think it looks so comfy and yet so chic!

I love this look by Annalyne McCord. She's sporting the perfect NewYork look while Minka Kelly is wearing a great bohemian skirt for a classically California look. Also I love Annalyne McCord's nailpaint color! Neon's the way to go!

Trend: Go wild this summer!

A new summer 2011 trend is tribal prints. It's very in this season and I'm seeing it everywhere, however we must never ever wear tribal head to toe as it could become well ... a fashion disaster.
We could always pair it off with a classic peice like a little black dress with these bangles or a metallic handbang. You can always just add a basic color and then compliment it with tribal print accessory.

Trend: Pure White!

This year Spring/Summer the themes seem to be all about purity! White is just Clear-Cut, Vivid, Fresh and Divine. Even though most of us are already prepared for the neutral beige colors but we must admit white is the new beige! :) As for when wearing white you should acessorize it with metallic jewellery or add some bright or pastel colors.

Trend: Hello Two-tone Pants!

We were just getting used to the new summer trend on bright colored trousers and the return of flare jeans (See Marc Jacobs , Derek Lam , Fendi) and now the new Fall trend is the 2 tone pants. Its supposed to make our legs look slimmer.. According to the designer - Prabal Gurung. The main trick is the curve seam. (Picture from ELLE.com)

Trend: The 60's dress

So summer's on and we got a whole lot of different new trends popping up.
This year, one of the trends that I loved was the whole 60's dress look. Its very feminine and chic.
Something very lady-like.
The various dress styles to the 60's look would be the fullskirts which is very 60's housewife and then the granny skirt [its sort of like the younger generations take on it]. When one accessorises the 60's look they should go for something like the kitten heels and the bold red lipstick which is very much hyped these days. You could also go for Cats-eye glasses from Chanel or the wide waist clinching belts and gloves.
