MMM X H&M NY EVENT

Many fashion icons like Sarah Jessica Parker, Selma Blair and Kanye West were all out at New York to celebrate off this year's most anticipated fashion collaborations. The event was held at 5 Beekman Street, downtown Manhattan. The guests were treated to a dance performance by avant-garde choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker and art installations displaying the new collection. Here's a look at my favorite styles (no specific order) :

Beauty HOW TO : Diane Von Furstenberg S/S 2013

Hey all, so I remember publishing a post on a runway beauty round up and a few of my friends responded asking for a HOW-TO on DVF's runway look. The make up look is very uniformed and natural. On creating this HOW-TO, I chose to use a mix of all kinds of products I thought were most suitable. Start off with the Match Perfection foundation by Rimmel and then contouring with MAC's Sculpting Creme. I chose cream blush called Pot Rouge by BobbiBrown as it will give a more healthy and "punchy" look. Then we smoke out your lower lash line with Revlon's luxurious eyeliner, you can actually use any eyeliner with a smudge stick (avoid your lower waterline) and to complete this look a few whips of the Intensifying Long - Wear mascara by Bobbi Brown.
Honestly I think the trick to this is to keep tailoring around this look because the whole idea of it is enhance your look. You could always use other alternatives to the products suggested, if you do need any further alternatives - please leave a comment or contact over on twitter or Facebook :)

Maison Martin Margiela for H&M lookbook

The Maison Martin Margiela collab for H&M will be hitting in stores in a about a month's time and I can't wait for this!  I just stumbled across their lookbook recently, LOVE the knits! I must say that this was probably one of the most unusual and anticipated collections so far.  >>

ADRxH&M Lookbook

I was just researching through one of my university assignments and just somehow stumbled on to the H&M website and found the lookbook to the Anna Dello Russo's accessories collection with H&M. Absolutely obsessed with this and the idea of statement necklaces. Adding a statement necklace to an old LBD can make the entire look fresh! I thought I'd share the lookbook here and some of the pieces I added on my wish list once the collection is available on October 4th.

LOVE! can't wait to get these! :)

I also found this video online on the PARIS event

Splash Fashion Show A/W 2012

After much questioning, I finally decided to attend the bi-annual Splash fashion show. It's always been one of the hottest events every year. I've been attending their shows for 3 years and always seem to compare each one to their previous show and they keep getting better. For those who don't know what Splash is - Its a middle east based fashion brand and aim to offer us all with affordable fashion.
The show was held on Friday the 21st at the Madinat Jumeirah.
Following their theme of Royalty, their collection was inspired from the Imperial Dynasties of China, France and the UK. You could spot the hottest trends out from this season such as brocades, velvets, lace and the peplum.
So here's my take on the show: I felt that some of the styling was over the top but then its a fashion showcase so it's about alright! Also a personal tip to many if you try to work on the brocade trend, remember it could either look tacky or chic.
Take a look at some of my snaps from last night :

This would be my style of the week! LOVE what they wore!
Check out their blog : www.deserttwins.blogspot.com
Loved his hair and her shoes. Fia from www.girlaboutdubai.blogspot.com

Not my personal fav :(

I think the styling could've been better here.
